Never go to bed without first removing your makeup.
It is so tempting to just walk in to the bedroom and fall into bed thinking I'm dead beat, so I'll wash my face in the morning".
No matter how tired you are and how tempting this is, keep in mind makeup of any form deprives your skin of the necessary oxygen, and all that foundation, powder and primer since morning will clog your pores, causing blackheads and blemishes.
In addition, it is not just the make up but a whole day's worth of oil, dirt and sweat that has already accumulated on your skin, do you really want to sleep with that? -
Always practice exfoliating your facial skin.
Always practice exfoliation sloughs off all the dead skin taht has built up over the past week, which can clog your pores and make your face look dull and lackluster.
Exfoliation gives your face a healthy glow you cannot get by just washing.
Do not think this is something just for older women. It is for young women as well and even men can benefit from exfoliating their facial skin. -
Always clean your makeup brushes. This is an easy to forget priority that should be at the top of your to do list because every time you use your brushes they pick up dead skin and oils from your face.
Without regular cleaning, all that dead skin and oils build up and transfer back to your face, thereby causing blemishes.
Clean them by using unscented soap and warm water at least once per month and if you need to use them right away, use a blow dryer set on low and gently blow dry your blushes. -
Always moisturize your face. Unless you are ready to be a 50-year old woman or look like you are already 70 years old, moisturize your face daily.
Not only that, but by drinking up to 8 glasses of water per day, your facial skin will reap the benefits. -
Wash your face twice daily. Under-washing your face can cause problems if you wear a lot of makeup becuase by only washing your face once per night, you could be leaving behind some of the makeup applied, which has gotten caught in your pores.
If you wear makeup, wash your face twice a day; once to remove the makeup and once to clean the skin and remove any leftover makeup.
