Posted by TTN Palawan on

Yogurt has a great reputation for being one of the most popular healthy foods in the world. Men and women alike benefits from this fermented food's goodness for many years.

In 2013, a study published in "Nutrition Research" showed that women who regularly consume yogurt have better overall diet quality than those who did not.  Let's take a look on what women can benefit from eating yogurt:

  • Gives more control in your appetite.
Yogurt, especially Greek yogurt is a great source of protein at 24 grams per serving. Having this in mind, the protein in yogurt helps you get that feeling of being sated or being satisfied or full. This is a great help if you are trying to watch your food intake but is struggling because you don't feel like you have had enough. So, if this is you, try eating fruit yogurt (i.e, plain yogurt mixed with fresh fruits, not the pre-mixed yogurt on the supermarket) and feel great in feeling full.

  • Decreases the risk of diseases.
Regular yogurt consumption has been linked to the decrease of risk of contracting life-threatening diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, or osteoporosis. Some studies that were conducted have also shown that those who consume yogurt on a regular basis have contributed to having lower blood pressure.

  • Nutrient Rich
Yogurt is a nutrient-dense fermented food that well known for providing a good number of nutrients that women need to have a healthy life. If you are a woman and you eat yogurt regularly, you most like will have potassium intake and you will have lesser of a problem with deficiencies in vitamin B and B-12, magnesium, calcium, and zinc.

So on your next stop in the grocery store, have a walk-by on the dairy aisle and grab your yogurt (better if it's plain, unflavored, and with live cultures!).
